Racing to Save Lives

Hey Everyone! Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I am training to participate in the Mrytle Beach Half Marathon on February 16, 2008. I started my training on November 3rd, 2007, and over the next couple of months, I will be training to run 13.1 miles! This will be my first EVER half marathon!

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I’m completing this event in honor of all those individuals who are battling blood cancers.

My personal goal is to complete the Myrtle Beach Half Marathon and raise a minimum of $2100 towards the cause by December 14th, 2007. I’m also running for our honored hero Jean C. Parker who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1990.

If you would like me to run in honor or memory of one your friends or family members, let me know and I will wear their name at the race. Just send me an email to stewartlas@gmail.com.

In order to achieve my goal, I am asking those who can to please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society’s mission. Team in Training is fully sanctioned by the South Carolina Chapter of LLS and all contributions are tax deductible. Even the smallest amount helps!

I hope you’ll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for all of your support!

(I lost count of my mileage, but I know I’m well over 100 miles total! Only a couple more months of training…)
