Utah opens practices to ‘Sweet Home Alabama’

Utah also remembers its victory over Alabama in New Orleans. When the Utes opened camp Thursday, players took the field with Lynard Skynard’s “Sweet Home Alabama” playing over loudspeakers, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.

No. 2 player, Seastrunk, still likes Auburn

But Auburn and first-year coach Gene Chizik still have the edge. “What you see is what you get with Coach Chizik,” Seastrunk told SN. “He’s a great guy, and he’s going to make sure you’re taken care of. He’s going to do everything he possibly can to be there for you. I feel like that’s my dad for the next three to four years. He’ll take care of me like my mom did. It’s the same connection. He would be doing the same stuff my mom has done for me to this point.”

Recruiting analyst on finebaum says Seastrunk to AU

”I just talked to him last week at a camp down here in Florida, and he likes Auburn…ALOT” -Recruiting Analyst Brian Mclachlan

“Lache was talking about playing with Dyer just last week when we sat down” -Recruiting Analyst Brian Mclachlan

“(Talking about Lache) He seemed like he was pretty much in still love with Auburn” – Recruiting Analyst Brian Mclachlan

“Lache really likes Gene Chizik – He just comes across as a no non sense guy – The way Lache put it – The one thing Lache kept talking about last week is that his mother has been such a strong force in his life and he really wants that parental figure at the next level – he seems to feel that Coach Chizik is that type of a guy” -Recruiting Analyst Brian Mclachlan

ESPN Seastrunk Evaluation

Fast, explosive, electric, either way you slice it, Seastrunk is arguably one of this class’ biggest game-breakers at the running back position. He lacks ideal size but is very well-built, defined and his tight, quick twitched body allows him to run and play much bigger. Seastrunk is a playmaker with the ball in his hands and we expect him to get touches in a variety of ways at the next level. He should make an ideal “space player” in the spread if he can polish up his receiving skills. He’s also an immediate threat in the return game.

From left, with EA Sports Elite 11 logos: the high school quarterbacks Josh Freeman, Tim Tebow, Pat Devlin, Neil Caudle, Jevan Snead and Matthew Stafford.

The Elite 11, which is in its seventh year, is a gathering of 12 of the top high school quarterbacks in the country, winnowed from 1,400 applicants with a scrutiny worthy of admission to an Ivy League college. The camp used to have 11 quarterbacks and a lesser “project” player. The project-player slot was dropped and a 12th top quarterback was added.
