When asked if there will be any “big time” commitments anytime soon..

“Yes, ha ha ha” Can you give me a time frame? Tomorrow? Today? “Hey, I wish I could, ha ha ha, but I am really thinking before Christmas…and BIG TIME would be the words to describe that particular athlete.” Big time? “BIG TIME.”

Auburn will be playing in a New Year’s Day Bowl.

An Auburn athletic official confirmed to AuburnSports.com that Auburn will accept a bid to the Outback Bowl, which will be played Jan. 1 in Tampa, Fla.

The Outback also gets the No. 3 selection from the Big Ten. With Ohio State and Iowa expected to play in a BCS Bowl, Auburn’s likely opponent would be Wisconsin (8-3) or Northwestern (8-4).

Auburn has never played Northwestern. The Tigers lost to Wisconsin 24-10 in the 2005 Capital One Bowl and defeated the Badgers 28-14 in the 2003 Music City Bowl.

The Outback Bowl is scheduled to kickoff at 10:00 a.m. CT in Raymond James Stadium. It will be carried live on ESPN.
