Temple senior running back Lache Seastrunk will announce where he plans to play college football in a Jan. 27 ceremony, Temple coach Bryce Monsen said Thursday.
Seastrunk, Temple’s all-time leader in rushing yards and total touchdowns, will make a verbal commitment at 4:15 p.m. at Wildcat Gym. Official NCAA letters of intent cannot be signed until Feb. 3.
Leading up to last Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Seastrunk said the schools he’s considering are – in alphabetical order – Auburn, Louisiana State, Memphis, Oregon and Southern California.
After originally ranking Seastrunk as the No. 1 running back in the country, the top-rated player in Texas and the No. 4 overall national recruit, Rivals.com this week has dropped him to fourth among running backs, No. 2 overall in Texas and No. 26 overall nationally.
According to the ESPNU 150, Seastrunk is the sixth-rated running back in the country, the No. 6 player from Texas and the 40th-ranked overall national recruit.
