Get Well Ben!

As someone who has gone through a season ending injury himself and behalf of Auburntron I just wanted to wish Ben Tate a healthy and fast recovery from the ankle injury he suffered earlier in the Texans preseason game against the Cardinals.  As most of you all know, Ben was the Texans second round pick and was looking at significant playing time with Houston this year, sharing carries with Steve Slaton.  He had surgery on Tuesday and based on his Twitter posts seems to be in good spirits and keeping a positive attitude.  He joins the likes of other great Auburn tailbacks that have had to deal with adversity once they reached the  NFL.  Caddilac Williams was the NFL’s rookie of the year but in his second and third seasons had serious injuries that limited his playing time. Last year he was back in full force and is now once again one of the most relevant RBs in the NFL.  Ronnie Brown is coming off a season ending injury and will now have to prove himself as one of the best backs in the NFL all over again.

We all  know Ben can do great things.  Tate finished at Auburn 5th on the career rushing list, behind Auburn greats Bo Jackson, Carnell Williams, James Brooks, and Joe Cribbs. He rushed for 3321 yards on 678 carries, scoring 24 touchdowns.  We know that he is going to bounce back from this injury and have a great NFL career.  Get well Ben!  Stay positive and keep your eyes on the endzone.  Auburntron and the whole Auburn family is behind you!

Also today is Ben’s Birthday, So HAPPY BDAY BEN!!!
